4th KL Omega Leo Clubs Joint Installation 2013

Date : 22nd September 2013
Venue: Multi-Purpose Hall of INTI International University, Nilai
Time: 02.00 pm – 05.00 pm



Leos and Lions started pouring in for the registration at about 2pm. At about 2.45pm, the Joint Installation officially began with the arrival of the Lion dignitaries. 

KL Unity was in-charge of registration 

Then the meeting was called to order by the presiding officer, followed by the national anthem, Leo pledge and a speech of the organizing chairman, Leo Ho Li Fen. The recognition of Lion dignitaries and Lions clubs followed suit.
Opening Ceremony
Subsequently, the banner parade involved several of the participating clubs, where the Leo president and his representative walk up to stage to present their respective banners. Then the presiding officer, Lion Colleen Teoh gave an address.

In the Initiation ceremony, all the new members were inducted by 2nd VDG Dato’Dr L.Krishnan. New members from our club included Leo May Yee and Leo Wan Chern.

Then the Installation ceremony took place, where all the incoming board of directors were sworn in to office. When the presidents were installed, 1st VDG Lion Lim Hoe Guan presented each president with their own gavel and president's badge. Then the 1st VDG witnessed the handing over of the Leo Insignia from the outgoing president to the incoming president. Finally, after all the formal handovers, the 1st VDG gave his speech. 







At about 4.30pm, the presiding officer Lion Colleen Teoh adjourned the meeting. A group photo was taken after that. There was a lucky draw involved in the meanwhile. The event officially ended at about 5.00pm. 




Moon Cake Festival Celebration

Date: 20th September 2013
Venue: PECH, PJ
Time : 08.00 pm – 10.00 pm

After celebrating Mooncake Festival on 19th Sept'13, KL Unity Leo's decided to teach the Kids from PECH Home, PJ, how to make a lantern. The lantern making section was conducted by Organizing Chairperson Leo Yi Shan.

A total of 16 children, together with 5 KLU Leo's and 4 guests took part in the project. The children were provided with the materials of lantern making such as paper plates, string and transparent colour paper. 






All of the lanterns were then hanging at the courtyard for photo section and





moon cakes were shared to the children before the project ended. 




 Besides moon cakes, we also donated some daily products to them.



Community Service at Old Folks Home

Date : 6th September 2013
Venue : Pusat Rawatan Tradional Darul Hanan
Time : 09.00 am – 11.30 am

On the 6th Of September 2013, Lions Club of Kota Bharu organized a visit trip to an Old Folk Home at Kota Bharu, together with their sponsor Clubs, Leo Club of SMK Chung Cheng and also Omega Leo Club of Kota Bharu Central.




The project started at 9am, with the Old Folks home person in-charge gave his welcoming speech and also Lion Club of Kota Bharu President, Lion Francis Lim. The Lions and Leo then started busy packing the goodies for the old folks while light refreshment was served.  




In conjunction with Hari Raya celebration, Lion Club of Kota Bharu offering free health checks which include blood pressure check and also eye check with free reading spectacle for the old folks there.  The Leo’s at the mean time helped up with clean-up of the old folk house area by picking rubbish.

After the Health Check and clean-up project ended, there was closing speech by OC Lion Dr. Chua Sim Son. The free goodies were then distributed out to the old folks by the Lions and Raya notes too. Lunch was served and the project ended at 11.30am.
