3. Sponsor Food or Give Us Stuff To Sell!
If you love cooking/baking, you could help by sponsoring some food items such as Fried Bihun, Sushi, Cakes etc! We understand that cost might be a problem, if you do not wish to fully sponsor the item, you could partially sponsor them. Just contact us and we'll give you the details!

Likewise, if you have old magazines or 2nd hand items that you think contain value, donate to us and we'll put it up on our jumble sale! Of course, don't just throw us old newspaper... =P

4. Volunteer Manpower!
Being a huge event, we need lots of manpower to organize the food items, to sell them and also to clean up! If you're free and would like to volunteer yourself, let us know! We'll be extremely grateful if you do!

September PECH Acitivity

On the 20th of September, Leo Kan Sha organized an environmental project at PECH. The activity was attended by 9 Leos from the club - Leo Kan Sha, Leo Sheng Wei, Leo Eong Xien, Leo Edison, Leo Jia Hong, Leo Hui Ying and Leo Joshua. Also present were guests Pleuni and Luke from Netherlands and Lion Tan Teoh.

The Leos reached the home at around 5.00pm. Before the activity, everyone was asked to contribute by bringing empty bottles, cotton and beans for the environmental awareness project. The activity was started at around 5.30pm with a brief introduction of everybody. Leo Kan Sha then explained the concept of plants and planting, teaching the kids the importance of giving attention and care to the plants while they are growing. While at the same time, some of the Leos prepared the ‘vase’ for the plants by cutting the empty bottles.

After the explanation, Leo Kan Sha brought the kids out to the garden. He explained to the kids that every one of them should take 2 bottle ‘vase’ and place cotton, beans and water in each. Then, one bottle should be labeled a ‘smiling face’ while the other a ‘sad face’. After the kids have done so, Leo Kan Sha told them to constantly talk and give attention to the plants in the ‘smiling face’ while ignoring the other. If the experiment goes right, the plants in the former vase would grow faster than the other. At around 6.30pm, Leo Kan Sha gathered the kids back at the home again. After some more explanation, the Leos said their goodbyes to the kids. After a group photo session, the Leos left PECH at around 7.00pm.

Zoo Negara Volunteer Work

On the 13th of July, the Leos of KLU consisting of Leo Sheng Wei, Leo Jia Yi, Leo Samantha, Leo Eong Xien, Leo Edison and Leo Kimberly Sng participated in a voluntary work activity at Zoo Negara, KL. The activity was also joined by members of Leo Clubs of KDU and Dato' Lokman.

We arrived at the zoo early in the morning when the officials of the zoo separated us into 2 groups. 1 groups was in charge of helping out at the reptile section, while the other group was helped at the birds section.

Our group was put in the birds section and quickly, we were assigned to our jobs. Leo Jia Yi and Leo Sheng Wei was in charge of preparing food for the birds, I and Leo Edison were in charge of cleaning up while Leo Samantha was in charge of bird feeding. The Leos were given the opportunity to go "behind-the-scenes" of the zoo and witness the work that is done first-hand. As a result, we came to appreciate the hard work that the zoo keepers put to maintain the zoo in its best condition.

The Leos worked until noon - with a short break in between - and when we were finished, the zoo keepers brought us around the bird cages and even gave us the opportunity for a photo session with a horn bill. After that, we gathered with the other group and had lunch before heading home.

Although the work given was tiring at some parts, we had fun and learn a lot through the activity. Definitely looking forward to more activities like these.

March PECH visit

For the month of March, the Leos decided to have teach the children of PECH egg painting in conjunction with Easter that was fast approaching.

So, today, a total of twelve Leos and soon-to-be Leos turned up for the activity. Yes, you read right. Twelve! They are Leo Guo Zhang, Leo Tze Yoong, Leo Thiam Beng, Leo Hui Ying, Leo Kimberly, Leo Kan Sha, Leo Sun Pei aka Sam, Leo Jia Yi, Leo Kok Chiang, Leo Sheng Wei, Leo Joshua and Eong Xien. What a list right?

Anyway, we prepared hollow eggs and brought paint and brushes for the children. However, only 10 plus kids were around as the rest were held up somewhere else.

Since there wasn't much explanation necessary, we dived into the painting almost immediately!

As there were as many Leos as there were children, each Leo accompanied a kid while he/she painted.

The children got to go crazy with the colours and they produced really pretty ones!

Of course, some of the Leos couldn't resist trying out their painting skills too =)

And not all used eggs as their canvas.

After the kids finished painting the eggs, they were dried off using a blow dryer
and later sprayed to ensure that the colour would last.

It was great to see the kids having fun with painting but what I'm particularly happy about is the fact that so many Leos turned up! Keep it up guys!

Valentine's Day event with PECH kids

Today, Leo Kar Fai, Leo Hui Ying, Leo Daniel, Leo Vicki, Leo Tze Yoong, Leo Thiam Beng, Leo Guo Zhang and guest Amy went to 1 Utama to distribute cookies for Valentine's Day!

Of course, the point of the project was to expose our club AND PECH to the general public.

We were placed at the cinema floor in the new wing and there were tons of people just waiting to be greeted with a little Valentines Day cheer!
It started off a bit slow but the kids warmed up to the idea quickly.

The children had Leos assigned to follow them and their enthusiasm was received warmly by the passer-bys.

Once the cookies were distributed, the Leos treated the kids to some Big Apple donuts and sent them back a little tired but happy nonetheless =)

KL Tower Trip with PECH Children

Earlier today, a nice, pleasant Saturday, Leo Kimberly, Leo Hui Ying, Leo Thiam Beng, Leo Kok Chiang, Leo Vicky, our guest Winnie & Ai Vern and Leo Samantha gathered outside PECH at 2pm to pick up the kids to go KL Tower.

The kids were definitely excited since it was their first time there. All the kids were went along for this trip. Lucky for us, their caretakers came along too:)

With three cars and a van, we managed to bring everyone safely to KL Tower on top of Bukit Nanas. Over there, we met up with Leo Daniel.

After settling the tickets, up we went to the observation deck. All the kids were given a complimentary binoculars, which were awesomely designed. It was very simple, made out of cardboard and 2 pairs of lenses. Yet, it works really well! All the kids had fun zooming around with it!!

We spent an hour or so circling the observation deck with kids scattered everywhere. Soon after that, we took a group picture. With just one call from the caretaker, the kids would come and gather around, which is really amazing, seeing that these kids are active, playful kids!

Around 4.30pm, we begun our journey home.

All in all, everything went very well and the kids were all bursting with energy. No wonder most of them fell asleep on the way home!

Done with all these details. Photos below!!!!
