Tree Planting @ Sungai Renggam, Shah Alam

Date: 25th September 2011 (Sunday)
Time: 8.30am – 1.00pm
Venue: Sungai Renggam, Shah Alam
Members present: Leo Kok Yi, Leo Peir Ee, Leo Jie Lin, Leo Maggie, Leo Joshua, Leo Teddy, Leo Kan Sha.

On cloudy Sunday morning, KLU participated in a tree planting project organized by Eco Warriors and MBSA sponsored by Maxis.



Before we began to plant, we were thought how to do it: 
- First clear the hole dug previously to put the sapling in. 
- Second fill up the hole with soil and make sure it doesn’t exceed the height of the roots as the root flare need to breathe. 
- Then compress the soil to hold everything together and put fertilizers around the tree. 
- Lastly, put a tree guard around the tree to protect from wind.



There were more than 400 volunteers and a total of 1800 trees planted.




 In total we managed to plant 10 trees on that day. It was a meaningful and joyous experience for us.


  

 



 


 


Now that we know how to plant a tree and what is required, we will plan to plant more trees in the future.

Leo club of KLCC 14th Anniversary Dinner

Date: 24th September 2011 (Saturday)
Time: 8.00pm – 11.30pm
Venue: Jarrod and Rawlins, Damansara Height
Members present: Leo Kok Yi, Leo Jia Yi, Leo Cindy, Leo Eong Xien, Leo Joshua, Leo Jie Lin, Leo Teddy & Leo Sheng Wei. 

Leo club of KLCC celebrated their 14th Anniversary Dinner on the 24th September at Jarrod and Rawlins. 
The dinner was served at 8.00pm sharp.



During the dinner, there were some ice breaking games which involved everyone there.
 




Dinner and social time until 11.30pm and everyone when home happily.

2nd Batch of IT Class for Children @ Sungai Way

Date: 24th September 2011 (Saturday)
Time: 2.00pm – 4.00pm
Venue: Sungai Way Community Hall, IT Centre
Members present: Leo Kok Yi, Leo Teddy, Leo Peegy, Leo Yuki, Leo Joshua & Leo Eong Xien. 

There were total 5 participants on that day. The class was conducted by Leo Joshua which he teaches them the basic typing, basic window navigation and basic word navigation.




The volunteer who helped up was Leo Kok Yi, Leo Teddy, Leo Peegy, Leo Yuki and Leo Eong Xien guiding the participants through out the whole class.


The class ended at 4pm and group picture taken together.


Leo School - Organized by Leo Club of Perennial


Date: 24th September 2011 (Saturday)
Time: 8.00am – 1.00pm
Venue: SMK Kepong Baru
Members present: Leo Kok Yi , Leo Peir Ee & Leo Jie Lin

Our key officers participated in the Leo School organized by Leo Club of Perennial. 

The school was divided into 2 sessions. First is on the Leo Orientation and then followed by a breakout session where the Presidents and Secretaries in one class, Treasurer in another and the Directors and Members in another class.






After the sessions, lunch was provided and the session end with a group picture.

Peace Poster

Date: 24th September 2011 (Saturday)
Time: 8.30pm – 12.30pm
Venue: Sungai Way Community Center
Members present: Leo Yuki, Leo Peegy, Leo Joshua & Leo Teddy
Guest present: Jeffrey Woo

This event was organized by Lions Clubs of KL North and open to children aged 11 to 13. A total of 61 children took part in the project and 9 of them were under the category of "Fun Group". "Children Know Peace" was the theme for this year. 






Trophy, cash and certificate were awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners and 7 consolation prize winners were awarded a trophy each. Of course, each of the fun group winners was awarded a trophy and certificates. A goody bag was also distributed to all the participants.
