On the 11th of November
2011, The Community Service Center for the Deaf celebrated their 16th
annual prize giving to the students in their center to acknowledge their
academic results and performance. It was also Father Tan Yap’s 95th
birthday. He is the founder of sign language in Malaysia. The event began with
a short presentation on the history of CSCD. Followed by a speech by Father Tan
Yap and also presentation of cheques by several Lions Club. After that there
were dances and performances choreographed by the students of CSCD. These were
followed by the cake cutting ceremony and lunch.
