Leo Club of Southern Cross and Leo Club of KDU College Orientation

Leo Club of Southern Cross & Leo Club of KDU College organized a joint orientation and has invited KL Unity to attend as well. The event was supposed to commence at 10.00am, but was delayed for about an hour because most participants have not arrived yet. At 11.00am, the Orientation was officially started. First, the event was started off with the National Anthem and the Leo Pledge, followed by a short speech from the Organizing Chairperson. The Orientation presentation was then given by Lion Foo, who was the invited speaker for the day. The presentation which explains the origins and background of Leo movement, lasted for about 30 minutes. After the presentation, the committee prepared some games for the participants to play. Lunch was also provided during the event. The whole event ended at about 1.30pm. 

 

Lion Walk for Health

Date: 11^th March 2011 (Sunday)

Time: 6:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Venue: SS2 Mall

Members present: Leo Kok Yi, Leo Joshua, Leo Jia Yi, Leo Eong Xien, Leo Cindy, Leo Hoong Yih, Leo Peir Ee, Leo Jessie, Leo Shuana, Leo Jia Hong

This fund raising project was organized by our sponsoring Lions club, The Lions Club of KL North. This project is dedicated to promote staying healthy. Participants with a minimum contribution or solicitation of RM30 are entitled to a goodie-bag which consists of vouchers, drinks, snacks, health care product and an umbrella.

Leos of KL Unity were assigned to be marshals and our duty was to maintain the safety of the participants and also to guide them to the correct route. There were 290 participants walking the route that day and the route was 3.7km long.

Unfortunately there were no pictures of us in action as all of us were busy controlling the traffic.

After the walk, the participants were guided into the hall as there was Line Dancing performance inside the Hall.

 

Eye screening counter for public to get their visions tested for free as well as bone density test, health screening service, organ pledge  

 

hsCRP test which cost RM10 per test. It is to test for potential risk of having heart attack. Lastly, the Co-Sponsors Booth to advertise themselves.
