This morning, the Leos woke up super early to be at the Praise Emmanuel Children's Home (PECH) by 9.30am. There, we picked up 3 kids and a caretaker and headed to the KL Wesley Methodist Church (somewhere along Jalan Hang Jebat) for their Food and Fun Fair.
Apart from celebrating their 110th anniversary, the fair is also held to raise funds for new buildings and facilities.
PECH was given RM800 worth of coupons (FORTY books of RM20 each) to tapau foodstuff and buy groceries for the Home. We started off our shopping tapau spree by buying a few packs of Solivite (some sort of drink similar to Vitagen, fyi) (ref to background in pic)
Then went on to buy some pies for their tea...
and then the children got thirsty so we bought a few cups of soya bean milk for them :D
Then the Leos had to line-up to buy pork (yes, pork, in a funfair). "siu-yuk", to be more specific...
... and 20 very heavy bottles of fruit juice...
...and rounded everything up with buying dim sum and char siew pau.
In the 2 hours we were there, (apart from the items mentioned above), we also bought dorayaki, 60 sticks of satay, curry puffs and vadais, fried chicken drumsticks, pizzas, sweet corn, char kuay teow, fruits, bottles of 100 plus and many many many more things.
So many that we had to walk 2 rounds to the car, even with 6 pairs of hands. And we had trouble stuffing everything into the car boot :D
The food will definitely last them quite some time, and I think it is most commendable for whoever it is that donated the coupons to the children, to do that noble deed.
ROAR!
