OSEAL Leo Conference 2013

On the 09/11/13, Leo Maggie and Leo Kan Sha recently attended the 1 day OSEAL Leo Conference in conjuntion with the 52nd OSEAL Forum in Singapore. Over 200 delegates from Leos and Lions from Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Nepal.

We had the one day gathering for the conference program such as Opening Keynote Address, 

Town Hall Meeting, 

Presentation of Leo Club Program in OSEAL, 

Group Discussion 

and Closing Ceremony.

Besides, we are honoured to have few of the Association leader to visit us during the OSEAL Leo Conference who is:

Past International President Kajit Habanananda as Opening Keynote Speaker, 

International President Barry J. Palmer, 

Our “Most Senior” Leos of the World Past International President Dr. Wing-Kun Tam 

and also International Director Teresa Mann as Closing Guest.

Leo Club of KL Unity Anniversary Party

Date: 5^th October 2013

Venue: MH Hotel Residence, KL

Time: 07.00 pm – 11.30 pm

We celebrated our 18th club anniversary on the 5th of October 2013 at the MH Hotel Residence KL. There were total 13 Leos, 2 Lions and 3 Guests present.

The event started with a welcoming speech from organizing chairperson and also short speech by Our Leo Adviser, Lion How and Lion Helena. Right after their speeches, we begun with our Dinner and in between we socialized around.

The anniversary ended with all smiles and everyone had a great day that night.

Leo Club of KLCC’s Anniversary Dinner

Date: 28^th September 2013

Venue: La Risata Restaurant

Time: 07.00 pm – 10.30 pm

Leo Maggie and Leo Kok Yi were the representatives from KL Unity to attend this memorable anniversary dinner of the Leo Club of KLCC.

They are celebrating their 16th Anniversary and came out with the theme "the 60's". We were asked to dress up according to the theme as well. The event was held at La Risata, an Italian restaurant.

They called the meeting to order at around 8pm, accompanied by speeches from their Leo Adviser, Organizing Chairperson and also the club president. We were then asked to introduce ourselves after dinner and also played some ice-breaking interactive games. 

Apart from that they also have a catwalk show of all guests at the end of the event that boosted the energy of the crowd. Leo Maggie was part of the winner for the female category. 

 

The event ended at 10.30pm and everyone was with smiles. We truly enjoyed the night and we definitely have made more new friends for the day.

Lions Club International Peace Poster Competition

Date: 28^th September 2013

Venue: S.J.K. (C) Sungai Way

Time: 09.00 am – 01.00 pm

It was an event organized by our sponsoring Lions Club, Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North. The contest was held at S.J.K.(C) Sungai Way and it started at 9am with 122 Kids participated. 

Leo Maggie, Leo Peegy and Leo Yuki were there to help out in goodies bag packing, delegation of breakfast and also helping out the judges on the hassles of the in between. 

The contest ended at 1pm and the children are happy with the results or even just the mere experience of joining this competition. 

We wish the winners the best of luck in competing at the international level. :D

4th KL Omega Leo Clubs Joint Installation 2013

Date : 22^nd September 2013

Venue: Multi-Purpose Hall of INTI International University, Nilai

Time: 02.00 pm – 05.00 pm

Leos and Lions started pouring in for the registration at about 2pm. At about 2.45pm, the Joint Installation officially began with the arrival of the Lion dignitaries. 

KL Unity was in-charge of registration 

Then the meeting was called to order by the presiding officer, followed by the national anthem, Leo pledge and a speech of the organizing chairman, Leo Ho Li Fen. The recognition of Lion dignitaries and Lions clubs followed suit.

Opening Ceremony

Subsequently, the banner parade involved several of the participating clubs, where the Leo president and his representative walk up to stage to present their respective banners. Then the presiding officer, Lion Colleen Teoh gave an address.

In the Initiation ceremony, all the new members were inducted by 2^nd VDG Dato’Dr L.Krishnan. New members from our club included Leo May Yee and Leo Wan Chern.

Then the Installation ceremony took place, where all the incoming board of directors were sworn in to office. When the presidents were installed, 1^st VDG Lion Lim Hoe Guan presented each president with their own gavel and president's badge. Then the 1^st VDG witnessed the handing over of the Leo Insignia from the outgoing president to the incoming president. Finally, after all the formal handovers, the 1^st VDG gave his speech. 

At about 4.30pm, the presiding officer Lion Colleen Teoh adjourned the meeting. A group photo was taken after that. There was a lucky draw involved in the meanwhile. The event officially ended at about 5.00pm.
