It was basically where candidates of the upcoming elections were assigned rooms to campaign and give out free stuff and to remind the voters to vote for them.
The KLU Leos were assigned to give out the DG candidates' doorgifts. Coffee, beer and cakes were also provided in the room. The whole idea is basically to mingle and collect free stuff :D
There was also a party going on at the lobby, under Datuk Danny Ooi (who is candidate for VDG, District 308-B1)'s hospitality, which involved a Miss Malaysia Tourism pageant preview and a private party for invited guests and B1 delegates only.
DiGi's YCF (Yellow Communication Fellow) was also present to give out freebies, courtesy of DiGi Communications Berhad.
All in all, the Leos (who were led around all the suites by Lion Vincent) enjoyed the night and managed to collect bagfuls of stuff as well.ROAR!
The event kicked off with a lion dance by the troupe from Catholic High School,
paraplegic dances (by Beautiful Gate),
Some of them were enjoying their food...
Everyone crowded around the barbecue pits to watch over their food...
and later settled down to makan!
The KLU Leos were in charge of registering the potential donors, and checking their registration forms (in addition to entertaining all their questions).
Some students, however, were hesitant about donating and so just stood and watched while their friends donated.
Many who wanted to donate got turned down because they were underaged/ underweight/ were in Malaysia for less than a year (foreign students)/ had high or low blood pressure, etc.
Even our very own Leo Mervyn turned up to show his support!
